On 5 June, international women\u2019s cycling quite literally passed right by our doorstep. The stage of the Giro d\u2019Italia Women<\/strong> starting in Sorbolo-Mezzani and finishing in Salice Terme set off just a few metres from our facility, turning our local area into the centre of national and international sporting attention for the day.
At 159 kilometres in length, this stage was the longest of the 2026 edition of the women\u2019s Giro d\u2019Italia. <\/p>\n

For us at Barigazzi, this event perfectly embodies the concept of a local company rooted in its community. For more than fifty years, we have been operating within the local area, making the most of timber and local resources, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the growth of our community\u2019s economy.
Seeing a world-class sporting event start right outside our gates was a source of great pride and a clear demonstration of the important role our area now plays in both the sporting and industrial landscape.
From the early hours of the morning, the start area came to life with the arrival of teams, organisation vehicles, event staff and countless cycling enthusiasts. Nearly 150 riders from around the world took part in a spectacular event that brought energy, excitement and visibility to the entire region. <\/p>\n

Our team had the opportunity to witness the start of the race at close quarters and experience a truly unique occasion, sharing in the excitement of an event that promotes values we strongly believe in: commitment, dedication, passion and respect for the local community.<\/p>\n

We are especially pleased that the Giro d\u2019Italia Women once again chose Emilia-Romagna and our local area to host such an important stage, reaffirming the strong connection between cycling and a region that has long been recognised for its excellence, hospitality and organisational expertise.<\/em><\/p>\n
